Dog mess bag dispenser now up and running in Highbury Park, Moseley

It is not often that one can claim excitment over dog mess bags, but Highbury Park Moseley, has today launched its dog mess bag dispensers. These have been erected as a 6 month experiment and a first for Birmingham.

The dispensers - see
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n300/martin_mullaney/dog-poop-bag-dispenser.jpg - can be seen at two locations in the park (1) next to the car park (2) next to the High Street entrance.

The dispensers will be refilled by the local Wardens.

It is accepted that the dispensers may be the source of vandalism, but unless we try we will never know. Equally, the bags may be a massive success and the amount of dog mess in the surround streets and parks reduced. The Highbury Park Assitant Ranger will be keeping an eye on the dispensers for any vandalism.

I would like to thank Fiona Adams of the Moseley Society and Natalie Higgins of Moseley in Bloom for finalising the wording on the display board.

There's a problem with your html for the link.

Plus, why does the sign need to be SO BIG for one dispenser? I understand people need to be aware of the dispenser's presence, but isn't that rather excessive?!

Nice idea though :)
