Update on the scaffolding on St.Marys Row

Update on this scaffolding.

The owner of the Chinese restaurant was unable to find a cheaper offer to repair the subsidense.

A meeting was therefore held on site last week with Council officers, where the owner of the Chinese restaurant agreed to a sizeable financial contribution to the repair work.

A contract will now been drawn up which will lock the Chinese restaurant owner into paying this financial contribution. If this contract is not signed by Friday 27th June, then enforcement action will take place.

If the contract is signed, then work will start on the building in early July, and it is anticipated the scaffolding will be taken down two to three months later.
