new plastic cast iron nameplate for Moseley

A new plastic Victorian style street nameplate has been installed in Moseley today - see before and after photo at

It's on Alcester Road, next to it Chantry Road junction.

This is the first plastic made Victorian nameplate to be installed in the suburbs of Birmingham. Several were trialed in Birmingham City Centre earlier this year.

They are alot cheaper and quicker to produce than the standard cast iron plates.

This has been installed in time for the Britain in Bloom judges visiting Moseley on Tuesday 11th July.

It is planned to replace all the modern nameplates in moseley with similar plastic Victorian nameplates.

Ooh! What's happening to the old ones? Could make nice garden ornaments.
