Weekly job list for Environmental Warden - w/e 27th October 2006

I am constantly asked what do our Moseley Wardens do. Hopefully, this e-mail will should some light on what our Environmental Warden does.

Moseley and Kings Heath Ward has three Wardens. One environmental Warden, Martin Holloway, and two Street Wardens, Kim Monaghan and Graham Flint.

All three are funded out of a combination of Community Chest and Neighbourhood Renewal Funds monies – Moseley and Kings Heath Ward has a total of £288,000 per year. The cost of the three Wardens is approx. £90,000.

The Environmental Warden has the powers to fine people.
The Street Warden do NOT have the powers to fine people, and are mainly used to collect intelligence on environmental and police issues. Plus they report any environmental or highway faults

The three Wardens work closely together and have agree to split their patrols geographically.

The two Street Wardens focus their patrols on Moseley shopping centre, north Moseley and the roads immediately off Alcester Road down to Queensbridge Road.

The Environmental Warden patrols Kings Heath and assists the Street Wardens in Moseley when enforcement powers are needs.

Martin Holloway, the Environmental Warden, e-mails me a weekly list of what he has done. It is very impressive and we have agreed to make this public on the understanding that residential house numbers are blanked out.
